Letters of Reference for Robert Wiltz

Enjoying our Paki Maui condo renovation:

We would like to recommend Rob Wiltz of Pacific Design and Construction for your consideration in any remodel or new construction plans you may have. The name of his company is true to the work he does. Rob had several "design" ideas that we incorporated into our condo renovation that turned out beautifully. In addition to Rob's eye for design, he hires quality sub-contractors as needed. We were very happy with the electrical work and painting job. We were on the mainland when most of the work was being done and Rob kept us in the loop with progress updates weekly. He also emailed us progress photos regularly. Rob stayed within the agreed upon timeline for completion, which is rare based on what we have seen on Maui. He made sure we were happy with every detail of the job. Finally and most importantly, Rob is, to put it simply, a very nice guy. He is an honest professional and we enjoyed working with him.

We used Rob Wiltz and Pacific Design and Construction as our general contractor for our kitchen and great room remodel/addition. The final product was outstanding. In addition, Rob was great to work with. He is reliable with schedules and responsive whenever anyone wanted to get in touch with him. His crew is very competent and reliable. The work is high quality.

Rob is simply professional, reliable, and trustworthy. We would not hesitate to recommend Pacific Design and Construction.

Thankful for having such a super General Contractor Robert K Wiltz. This man is building my house on Maui and does a great job... he's been advisor, builder, and communicator (especially since I've been back in Oregon). Check out my Kula House pix to see my beautiful house in progress!

I have hired Rob Wiltz and Pacific Design and Construction to handle two remodel projects at my homes in Napili and Kula. From day one Rob and his crew have shown the utmost professionalism.

Rob is very hands on and is always available when there is a question, a change or just the need to follow up on a day's work progress. Rob's budgets were realistic... and so far both projects are on target budget wise and time wise. His crew always shows up on time and with an attitude of dedication to their work. They leave the premises tidy and clean and are always courteous to me and my family.

Construction can sometimes be a very draining experience, but working with Rob has proven to be pleasant and even fun.

There is not doubt I would use Rob and his team again for future projects.

Best,
Mick Fleetwood

This is to provide the highest possible reference for the work of Mr. Robert Wiltz, of Pacific Design and Construction, on the island of Maui, HI.

Mr. Wiltz did an extensive remodeling of my condominium in Maalaea Banyans between the months of October and December 2008. I am very pleased with the quality of his work, and his work ethic. Moreover, I was satisfied with the cost accounting that he provided throughout the project. And I am especially impressed by his adherence to the construction timeline that he promised when I first signed my contract with him. He did what he said he would do, and that is not very common among contractors on Maui.

Sincerely,
Antonio Enriquez

As Architect of the new Tori Richard Store at Whalers Village, Maui, l had the opportunity this past year to work with Rob Wiltz and his team at Pacific Design and Construction, Inc.

I, as well as my client, require a high level of quality and attention to detail on our projects, and contractors that I work with must be able to demonstrate the quality that I demand. PD&C did so, even in situations when the construction documents were not as detailed as they should have been. These are areas where contractors will typically take advantage of in the form of Change Orders. The Change Orders on this project were few, and when necessary, well documented and valid.

Another strength that PD&C demonstrated was their ability to work through problems in the field with the architect. My work tends to be highly creative, and sometimes it is difficult to explain the entire design in a conventional two dimensional drawing. Rob and his sub-contractors worked with us in the field to achieve the desired goals of the design and the end product was truly a team effort.

The agreed upon budget and schedule of the project were likewise achieved. I highly recommend Rob and Pacific Design and Construction, Inc. and if you have any questions, or would like further information, please call me at (808)545-5009.

The purpose of this letter is to speak to the character of Robert Wiltz and his company known as Pacific Design and Construction, whom I have had the pleasure of overseeing during a recent project.

Hawaii Public Adjusters is Hawaii's premier insurance claims management firm. Pacific Design and Construction assisted me personally in a difficult reconstruction on a residence in Maalaea, Maui, Hawaii from June 2010 through April of 2011.

I have grown to trust Mr. Wiltz with more and more responsibility because, with time, Pacific Design and Construction had proven to be a very reliable and efficient contractor with the ability to handle all phases of the work. Mr. Wiltz was in fact always actively seeking additional tasks or assignments that would improve the project. His concems had proven to be appropriate and acceptable for the matter at hand. That kind of vitality is beneficial for any owner, construction manager and the greater construction industry as a whole. lt illustrates an inner desire to focus on the small items that could have had a global impact on the overall project if left unattended and not properly addressed.

During the construction phase, Mr. Wiltz became well-liked, was willing to listen, and often came up with solutions while others were perplexed at resolving difficult issues. Mr. Wiltz is of good moral character, was kind and generous to the clients that were in need of his services during their time of desperation and despair.

Should the situation arise I would be more than happy to have Pacific Design and Construction work on another project for us. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Robert Hugh Joslin - CPPA
Principal for Hawaii Public Adjusters

We recently opened a new Tori Richard store at Whaler's Village on Maui. We used Pacific Design & Construction for the build out.

We were most satisfied with the work done. The store came in on time and within budget. The crew was professional and cooperative.

I would highly recommend them and would be happy to work with them on future projects.

I remodeled my oceanfront home in Puamana, Lahaina and used Pacific Design and Construction Inc to do the work Rob Wiltz was a great asset in the design and preparation for the job especially in determining the budget that I needed to reach and the amount of work we could get for that amount. He was accurate in his budget numbers and also in his time estimate to complete the project. During construction the job moved smoothly and problems that came up were addressed in a timely fashion. The job site was always manned and kept clean and safe. As a developer of commercial properties for over 35 years I am very picky in the workmanship and quality level of jobs and I was more than pleased by the completed remodel. We have now enjoyed living in our remodeled home for over two years and would choose Rob to work with for any future projects. Not only were they professional and quality oriented in their work, but they were also fun to work with.

When Lynn and I decided to fulfill our dream and purchase a home on Lake Tahoe, we were very excited but certainly anxious about the road ahead. Well, as fate would have it, we chose to minimize the excitement and maximize our anxiety by building a new house in Rubicon Bay. I don't know why that decision concerned us! Maybe it had something to do with the fact that we had never built a house before and we live 500 miles from the homesite. Maybe it was that we did not know an architect or builder in the area. Maybe it was because.... I don't know, the reasons are endless.

Well, we went for it. I remember the first time you saw the property and especially the Norwegian house that we had decided to use as our guest house. What a mess! But like us, you saw the underlying excitement in that historical cabin. And even after we encountered major structural damage, you didn't panic. You dug in and calmly resolved the problem. Today, our Norwegian Ski Lodge represents one of our most prized possessions. It's a treasure we will cherish forever.

Then we began the planning and construction of the new main house. Loring and Gary had designed a beautiful cedar and glass house which you agreed to build through the winter. Why not? The previous seven winters were mild. well, I guess we forgot to tell the man upstairs to go for eight. The winter of '93 broke all kinds of records for snow fall. It was beautiful but not what you would call ideal conditions to build a new house. Again, you and your team performed as professionals. There I was frequently freezing and cold watching in disbelief as Rob and the team hammered away. Despite the conditions, the project cane in just about on time and within reasonable cost goals. It was amazing!

Today, Lynn and I are proud owners of a magnificent home in Lake Tahoe. The quality of workmanship, creativity of design, and superior material content attest to the high standards you work to. Your easy going and accommodating style make even this challenging task a pleasure. We enjoyed every moment of the experience, and you are a primary reason for its success. We view you as a gifted builder and a personal friend, and we appreciate both sides of our relationship very much. The pride we share in our home and our accomplishment is evident to everyone we talk to. The house is gorgeous and it is a testament to your skill and dedication. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We hope to see you soon - hopefully during the holidays. The best to your family.

Now that we are in our new home, we find ourselves truly appreciating what has been accomplished. Your crew's professionalism in terms of aesthetic and technical skill has been exemplary from the foundation and framing through to the finish details. Everyone reflected pride and integrity in their work. A lot of what we were looking for was the "Old World" craftsmanship and accompanying attention to detail. We cannot say enough about the level of expertise and dedication. Beyond this, Kelsey and I have enjoyed working with the crew, they are honest and upstanding.

You are very fortunate to have a foreman as capable and dedicated as Rob Wiltz. He is organized and well respected by his crew and the subcontractors. Plus, he did not miss one date! Having built many homes and hotels I can attest to the fact that this kind of performance just does not happen - he is good.

Bottom line Curt, we could not have chosen a better contractor. Thanks for helping to make a thirty year dream come alive.

This note is long overdue but a wonderful relaxing visit to our new home in Tahoe last weekend reminded me to get with it.

You both did a great job on the house project. The product is great. A lot of terrific innovative ideas clearly contributed to its success. lt also went very smoothly. At least, I can say that since I let Donna worry about everything-but it really was a pleasure to work with you both. So I send you an official thanks for a job very well done, and I hope we can all get together one of these days and toast the success.

Donna joins me in sending our best to you both. Hope to see you in the near future.

Best regards,
K.T. Derr

P.S. I do recall our first discussion in which I set a budget limitation for the project which everybody was successful in avoiding. I'm sure that's never happened before. Oh well.

It has been my intent for some time now to write to you and thank you both for the magnificent job you did in designing and building my beautiful home at Lake Tahoe. l don't think you can appreciate a house like this until you are living in it, and the more Arthur and I have spent in it the more we realize how well it fits the lot, and how well it suits our needs and that a great deal of thought went into all the planning. Of course, knowing what a difficult lot this was to build on, we realize the outstanding job that was done. Everyone who has come to visit us and knows what this lot looked like before the house was built is truly amazed how well it is nestled into the lot and how nice that our beautiful outcropping of rocks has been incorporated into the design. The quality of workmanship and materials are obvious and of course Curt your eye for all the necessary details made building this house an experience that was enjoyable. Working with both of you and seeing how well you work together was an unknown to us at the start, but you complement each other and both Arthur and I enjoyed working with the two of you.

We want you to know that we have recommended you to other people looking for a designer and builder and we thank you for a job well done.

Yours Sincerely,
Harriet Reininger

Rarely do projects proceed as smoothly as we would like, especially given constraints such as those we had to face on the Shaw House. However, thanks to you and your excellent crew, this most challenging project was successfully completed.

We certainly noticed and appreciated the high level of craftsmanship evident in your work. However, we were even more impressed by your ability to complete what was probably a ten month project in the three months available prior to the first winter snow. We also thank you for dealing with the myriad of field conditions which were difficult for us to manage from our office here.

Please thank your foremen Rob Wiltz and Roger Holmes and all the excellent carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors who respected our design and produced a spectacular result.

Do not hesitate to use us as a reference for future projects. We look forward to working with you again.

Very truly yours,
